It’s been there for a while now. It keeps him awake at all hours, eyes wide open towards the dimming glow-in-the-dark stars on his ceiling, too afraid to move.
That’s the thing with being the son of ghost hunters, Danny thinks. Even if in the daylight hours ghosts are laughable - there are no such thing as ghosts, he really should know better - when darkness falls, and the world goes quiet, and there’s only the sound of his breaths and the scratch, scratch, scratch, it all suddenly feels a little too real.
Especially after the accident.

Summary

Andrew smiled something manic, and blasted a fist into Neil’s injured side. “You’re a lot funnier when you’re writhing in pain,” he decided.
