He should have picked anyone but me,” he says. Izuku can feel his chest hitching, can feel his lungs trying to expand and finding no air to bring in. He's surrounded by Katsuki’s breath and lazy spring winds and he’s drowning on dry land. “Kacchan, I can’t do this again.”
"You can. You have to.”
Or
Someone dies in Izuku's arms. It takes little, after that, for him to crumble. Luckily Katsuki is there to pick up the pieces.
