Summary
After waking up from the ice, Steve gets lost in his own head. The avengers notice that Steve gets distant. After a lot of coaxing Steve starts telling the avengers about his past with Bucky. Eventually they all begin to know and love Bucky as well. Soon, a new villain more powerful, skilled and ruthless as the Black Widow shows up and the avengers are forced to fight the Winter Soldier.

Summary
Steve was everything the weirdly invasive history books and biographies said he was. He was every inch and ounce the great man the world thought him to be. Bucky had known that all along, and he was pleased that even seventy years later, the whole world was finally beginning to get to know his Steve. And Steve’s mind was something special too. He was one of the greatest tacticians the world had ever seen. Any situation, any enemy, any impossible scenario you could throw at him, Steve would bull right through it. Put him up against any great leader of the past, and Bucky would place his bets on Steve every time.
He had, in fact. Bucky’d bet his life on Steve, every time they’d waltzed into battle.
The thing was, Steve’s tactical mind was a thing of beauty, a rare gem in a world of mediocrity, something that barely came along once every few generations.
But when it came to matters of the heart and soul? Steve Rogers was kind of a dumbass.
But for the first time, Bucky had time to deal with Steve’s temper his way.

Summary
Bucky breaks into Steve's apartment one night and holds Steve at gunpoint, demanding answers for a past he's only just beginning to understand. Though Steve manages to convince Bucky to come home to Brooklyn with him, events (and feelings) quickly spiral out of their control. Natasha warned Steve about pulling on certain threads, after all. The file she gave him reveals much deeper, more sinister connections to both Hydra and the Soviet Union than either Steve or Natasha realized. And Natasha has her secrets, too.
But even if they do untangle the complicated threads, what happens when Bucky's past as the Winter Soldier becomes public knowledge?
Come for the romance and action, stay for the pelmeni and pizza.

Hurt, hungry, and on the run, the Winter Soldier doesn’t have a lot of safe options to go to for help. Figuring that any friend of Captain Steve Rogers is unlikely to be HYDRA, Bucky takes a chance and reaches out to the first Avenger he can find.
