Will left Hannibal without saying goodbye 15 years ago. The canon happens and they get reintroduced. After the events of Fromage Will take Hannibal home and helps him with his injuries. Nothing weird is going to happen at all. they both can be normal about it. Right????

“We're about to live together Hannibal. We're bound to fight '' his beautiful eyes crinkled in mirth as though the mere thought of fighting with Hannibal was hilarious. “We have to promise each other to not act impulsively on our feelings. I need you to promise me that you won’t gut me at our first serious disagreement”.
Hannibal smiled, a bit drowsy and incredibly happy Will was considering a long-term arrangement for both of them.
“I won’t hurt you, Will, not on impulse and nor otherwise” Will grinned in his lopsided way that might have come off as grotesque to anyone else. To Hannibal, he looked divine.
“My turn”
Will raised an eyebrow.
“If you were to leave me, at least gift me with your wrath first”

Summary
After their frantic escape from the states, their time in Cuba was surprisingly calm. Will is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Hannibal and himself needed the time to heal but knowing Hannibal as intimately as Will does, he knows that their serenity is short-lived.
That is why Will keeps Hannibal on edge. He chose Hannibal and he wasn't going to back down, he can't, but Hannibal doesn't have to know that.
