Shane lifted his head. Ilya’s gaze was a little sharper. Shane couldn’t hide the micro levels of which he tensed in Ilya’s arms. Did Ilya ever expect to get this far? Did he ever expect to hand Shane the phrase to decode what he’d admitted to months prior?
“You’ve said that before,” Shane whispered.
Ilya smiled softly. “Yes, last night.”
Shane shook his head. “No, before that. When you were in Moscow, and I told you to talk about your family in Russian. You said you loved me at the end.”
