He doesn't remember much about the day itself. It was cold and foggy, he thinks, but so is every day in November in Hawkins. He was in school, and then he wasn't. He was in the car, and then he wasn't. He was at home, and then he was in the car again, and then he was at Grandma's house watching TV on her soft pink carpet.

He’s determined to play things cool and brush it off, despite his brothers’ growing suspicions at his changing behavior. He’s the leader, after all, he should be able to handle it!
