Summary
Most days, having Will barge into his space and bully him into leaving their apartment is something that Mack enjoys, though he would never admit it out loud even if he’s sure Will must know how much he appreciates their little excursions.
This morning, however, he cringes the second he hears Will stomping up the stairs to where he’s lying in his bedroom, curtains drawn tight against the bright light of the sun that he can never completely expel from his bedroom on sunny mornings like these. At times like this, it’s hard for him to remember why he’d ever fought Will for the room with the wall of windows, the last thing he wants right now is to stare out into the sunrise shining over the mountains. The glare burns his retinas just thinking about it.

Sam has been struggling with depression since Stanford. Well, not really struggling. Excelling. He's been excelling at depression since Stanford, and it's only gotten worse since he started hunting again. Unfortunately, the relapses from John's death and Dean's trip to Hell were bad, but they had nothing on the downward spiral triggered by Sam starting the Apocalypse.
But Sam has never come clean before, and he isn't about to start. He's self-medicating, he's suppressing, and he's handling things in the Trademark Winchester Way. He can do this. He can totally do this.
