    He looks up, and they engage in one of their wordless staring contests. Todd feels like he could faint any second now, melt into a small puddle on the wooden floor; drip down between Neil's fingers, like water. Driven by his star-ridden eyes.
    He won't look away first if it means expressing a triumphant, unspoken I love you more.

     

    “I think you’re the most wonderful, kindest person I have ever met, Todd.”

    or, Todd is struck by lightning in the form of restlessness. Neil is there to catch him.
