Lucas let out an exhale, rubbing the inner corners of his eyes, if only to give himself a moment to think of a response.
“It’s not worry,” Lucas said at last. “Worry won’t do shit right now, will it? I’m just... praying. And pestering the doctors. I can’t do anything else and that sucks.”
Mike scooted an inch to the side, his knee lightly nudging Lucas, “You’re doing good, buddy. I know Max would appreciate it. I know it.”

“Right, so, Medusa on Saturday…” Percy hedges, when Luke clears his throat. Percy whips his head around, feeling caught out for some reason - he almost forgot Luke was there.
“Guys, what is this?” Luke asks incredulously.
“What?” they say at the same time. Jinx.
“When did you turn into an old married couple?”
Um. Percy’s brain short circuits.
Him and Annabeth? He knows they’ve gotten closer since the Tunnel of Love - it’s kind of hard not to when you’ve already tried to sacrifice yourself for the other like, twice, in the span of four days. But he thinks “married couple” is an exaggeration - Luke is probably just being protective because Annabeth is his little sister. That must be it.
“Not to change the subject, but I’m gonna-”
Or: Percy is oblivious, Annabeth is exasperated, and everyone knows they’re in love (except them). (1x06)
