“Why must you torment me thus?” Halbrand asks, pleading. “I felt it when you nurtured the fragment of my soul. You desired my return; this accursed face always in your dreams.”
Galadriel shakes her head. “Wanting you back and having you back are separate realities,” she says, her tone softening. “Feeling your touch again, of course I delighted in it but,” she pauses, takes another large sip from her wine glass. “I must also reckon with everything you have done. Everything I have done.”
“What did you do?” Halbrand snorts, “aside from ensure my lasting and humiliating defeat.”
