Summary
Kabru has always struggled to take care of himself. He never felt there was time for sleep or a proper meal down in the dungeon, but his new position as the King's advisor shows him their importance. Laios is insistent he eats three well-rounded meals a day, though Kabru never excepted that to come with the added bonus of being hand fed by Laios himself. With their growing closeness, and Laios' caring nature weighing on his affection for him, Kabru is sure to embarrass himself somehow. Or maybe he'll get a feast great enough to last him a lifetime.

Feeling his eyes water from not blinking for too long, Kabru wondered if he should end this analysis for the night. Take a break from obsessing over things that were likely arbitrary.
Still, he longed to to make sense of it all— to understand why the touch of his king had been eating him alive.

Summary
Laios decides the best way to choose a marriage partner is to throw a tournament where suitors will have to compete for his hand in marriage. Kabru is totally normal and not jealous about this. He organizes the whole thing, and rests uneasily knowing Laios will be married (and unobtainable) soon enough.
His plans to stay carefully removed from the equation are thwarted when Kabru learns he's been entered into the tournament. And, well, given the chance to compete, he decides to utterly render his competition to dust.
