He doesn’t believe in luck but in the seconds when he stumbles, catches the blur of Williams swinging his arms down, feels the glance of the blow meant to crack his helmet - and likely his fucking head open – blood and brain matter spattering on his face, the thump of a body hitting the floor, his own laughter ringing through his ears – he can’t think of any other reason he’s not dead on the goddamn floor.

Summary
Betty Brant is back in New York after running from a proposal and a relationship in ruins. Through a chance encounter she runs into the last person she wants to see: Liz Allan, her ex romantic rival. But Liz proves to be an unexpected shoulder for Betty to lean on as she tries to piece her life back together. As the two girls grow closer, Betty finds that the solution to her problems in love might not be what she thinks.
