Summary
Hannibal Lecter loomed over his prey, over the sleepy omega sprawled out in his bed. He was so vulnerable, aware of the world’s cruelties only as stories. He expected the world to attack him, yet his inexperience had led him right into the wolf’s den.
The alpha held his finger below Will’s nose, checking to make sure that the drugs he’d placed in the omega’s wine had truly knocked him out.
When he was satisfied that Will was in deep sleep, he ran a hand through the boy’s curls, gently extracting it when he ran into several knots. Hannibal undid Will’s shirt, endeared that the boy had put so much effort into presenting himself. How Hannibal had wanted to tear into him, seeing his lamb sitting on the table like a meal. It had taken all of his willpower, but Hannibal wasn’t searching for a quick lay, nor for Will to come to him with ulterior motives. No, Hannibal Lecter was in it for the long game, and he’d just cast the first gambit.
