He loosens his grip as she turns around, facing him now, “Happy Birthday love!” She kisses him sweetly, “I was hoping you’d stay in bed longer so I could bring you breakfast in bed.”
“You should know by now Luce, breakfast in bed is my thing. In fact, I have it patented.” He winks as he kisses her again, lingering a little longer this time. “This smells and looks amazing though. Thank you, Luce.”
“Of course. Now, let’s get eating so you can open your gifts!” He hadn’t even noticed the table and he just shakes his head. But man oh man does he love this woman.

Her phone that was sitting on the coffee table in front of her made a sound that got her attention. Sitting up so she could grab it, she smiled instantly seeing Tim’s name across the screen.
Tim: Hey love, tried to DoorDash us some dinner but accidentally sent it to the house. Should be there by 6:45. It won’t let me cancel it 😂
She chuckled, she needed that laugh. She quickly types him back something,

Thinking maybe it was just her stomach upset, she tried to get up to go use the bathroom but instantly yelped as the pain only intensified as she tried to even just sit up in the bed.
All of that had woken Tim up and it only took him less than a minute to realize something was wrong. “Luce? You okay?” His voice filled with concern as he’s still trying to wake up.
“I… I’m—“ she was about to lie and say she was fine but another wave of pain interrupted her and now she knew there was no point in lying to him. “I’m in a lot of pain and I don’t know why.” She finally spits out, trying to lay back down but winces again.

After lunch was eaten, the three sat around the tv while Tim and Austin battled each other in Call of Duty. Lucy sat cheering them both on with Kojo at her feet. They were all a little surprised when Tyler came walking out and plopped down on the couch.
“You feeling better bud?” Tim pauses the game so he can give his other nephew attention.
“Mostly,” he shrugs, “Tired of lying in bed though. Who’s winning?” Lucy and Austin laugh.
“Me of course. Uncle Tim seems like he’s on a suicide mission like always.” He just shakes his head and unpauses the game, trying to get back at Austin but of course having no luck.

Chenford Bingo: Babysitting. A day off that was just supposed to be the two of them doing nothing turns into a filled day with their nephews

Summary
He knows Lucy’s favorites, that she likes the crullers at the bakery around the corner, but the coffee from the shop halfway to the station. Usually she makes her peace with either coffee that isn’t quite sweet enough or pastries that aren’t as airy as she likes.
Tim doesn’t get it, doesn't pretend that he understands ordering coffee any way other than black or could tell an airy pastry if it hit him in the head. But he knows that it matters to Lucy, and she shouldn’t have to settle for anything. Ever, but especially not today.
