Summary
Over the years, Ilya witnessed multiple instances where Shane’s brain overloaded when plans and patterns changed against his will, but this was by far the most heartbreaking embodiment of that overload.
And Ilya would do just about anything to make him feel better.
Including sitting at a table across from the father of his boyfriend at just past noon on Thursday while said boyfriend steps outside to talk with his mom.
Aka I couldn't stop thinking about what Ilya and David talked about when they were left alone at the cottage and ended up with 5k words about that day.

If you ask anyone who knows even the slightest bit about hockey, they would say that Shane Hollander is one of the nicest players out there. A generational talent with talks of a dynasty.
If you ask Ilya Rozanov, he’d announce loudly that Shane Hollander is the best thing that happened to him. Don’t get it wrong; he’d still call him boring and polite and “very Canadian” and only the second best hockey player in the league. But there’d be a sparkle in his eye and a soft smile on his lips, and it wouldn’t be hard to see the pure adoration the man had for Shane Hollander. He’d mock him with “golden boy Shane Hollander,” but there’d be a thread of something hidden in his voice. Almost as if he doesn’t truly believe it.
Or, Shane Hollander left Montreal. He's not sure if all of him did, though.

The femdom section was a surprise in more ways than one.
For the first time that evening, Jean felt attracted to what he was watching. A deeply uncomfortable erection and five minutes of deliberation later, Jean pushed forth. It was the only category he truly liked fantasizing about being the man in—he couldn’t decipher why until he noticed the pattern.
In the specific niche he managed to get lost in, the women—despite their occasional torturous or condescending actions—were kind.
