“I can’t keep going,” Mike cries, “I can’t keep going on like this. Like, pretending everything is okay, and I’m fine.”
Will just listens.
“I don’t understand. I don’t understand how everyone is just focusing on their lives, and I’m still stuck at that night, that night where El disappears. I don’t understand. I can’t stop thinking about it. I don’t understand how people—people like you just, I don’t know, move on.”
Will bit his lip. He almost wants to laugh and say, “I didn’t move on, Mike. I keep thinking about it, too. No one just knows I do, because I don’t have someone to tell it to.”
Instead, he says, “I’m sorry, Mike. It’s hard, I’m here for you.”

Will Byers has never been to a party in his life. Stacy invited the whole party to her house and instead of doing a D&D campaign, they went to the party. Will feels out of place, but maybe Chance Romanillos can help out with that. Will just needs to take a breath of fresh air.

Summary
"I'm sorry." Chance whispered as he rested his chin on Will's shoulder. He closed his eyes and kissed his neck softly, that mole shaped like a heart that he always adored, his cheek, his jaw, anywhere he could, whispering "I'm sorry's," and "I love you's," in between each one.
Will's stomach fluttered and his face grew hot. He could feel the dam breaking. Chance knew exactly how to get to him, and it was both infuriating and endearing.

Will watched him spin the cigarette around his fingers a few times before moving to put it back in the pack.
“Need a light?”
Chance’s entire body jolted as his head whipped around in Will’s direction. A hand clapped to his chest and he let out a noise of something along the lines of relief.
“Jesus man,” Chance breathed out, “Trying to put me in an early grave?”
Will laughed gently, holding out his lighter towards Chance, flicking his wrist to mime throwing it. Chance held out a hand and caught it cleanly as Will tossed it, almost too cleanly, considering the horrible arc of the throw.
