Summary
He always considered himself as someone with bad luck.
He hadn't been sleeping well for the past few days. He found it ironic: his work schedule affecting his sleep schedule. His boss from his previous workplace recommended him to the owner of that 24-hour store, and he offered him the night shift. It wasn't a part-time work; it was full-time, and he was paid accordingly. At the very least, it was more than he could expect to be paid on a part-time basis, considering he was still a student.Or:

Summary
“Yeah,” Mo said, breathing out a laugh, “that’s a sign that you need to quit.”
He Tian smiled. He almost wanted to take it as a joke so he wouldn’t actually think about those words, or entertain going through with it. But he had more important things to think about, like trying to get Mo Guan Shan to come over to his.
Reeking not of cigarettes but of desperation, He Tian said, “I’ll clean the place up before you come in. So please, Mo ge?”
Or: Slowly, He Tian quits smoking. Mo teaches him how, without quite knowing it.

Summary
“Guan Shan!” He Tian snapped, rising abruptly as the chair scraped loudly against the floor.
Guan Shan didn’t even flinch. He turned off the tap and grabbed a towel to dry his hands. He still wouldn’t look at He Tian. “What do you want me to say?” he asked, finally breaking the silence. “That I’m fine? That everything’s okay?” He tossed the towel on the counter, his movements growing more agitated. “Because it’s not.”

Summary
“If you want something from me, all you have to do is ask,” He Tian says, his voice gliding effortlessly between cool confidence and quiet anticipation.
The sharp crack of ice cubes hitting the sides of the glass matches Mo’s ragged scoff.
“Yeah, right,” Mo bites back. “What if I asked you to get on your knees in front of me?”
