Summary
When a throw-away comment about the Boy-Who-Lived catches Lucius Malfoy by surprise, he starts to investigate about the boy’s whereabouts. Finding the Saviour of the Wizarding World treated like a common house-elf is not at all what he expected. Not one to let an opportunity pass when it presents itself, he takes Harry in as his ward before someone else can whisk him away, securing the boy’s fame and power for himself and giving him the education he is sorely lacking.
Locked into his room by the Dursleys and half starved to death, Harry hasn’t much hope that anything will change until he goes back to Hogwarts. But then Draco Malfoy’s father shows up of all people and offers him a place at Malfoy Manor.
Highly suspicious at first, he finds that the Malfoys are kinder than he expected and Harry slowly starts to let himself believe that things might be looking up for him at once. But those around him are not as trusting as he is and when Dumbledore tries to warn Harry away from the Malfoys, Harry will have to fight to keep his new-found family and keep the fragile trust he has in them.- Language:

There are two wolves guarding the entrance, and they look at Will with sharp eyes as he strides past them, towards the check-in station. He tells the receptionist – human, he notes, marking both the pale blue veins in her neck and then how her posture immediately stiffens, pulling her hair forward to hide it – that he's here to see Jack Crawford, and is told to sign in and wait for his visitor's badge, and an escort.
He does as he's told, because even though his eyes are the clear, natural blue of a well-fed vampire, his kind are notorious for acting unpredictably, and he can feel the eyes of the guards and the blinking cameras, listens to them whir as whoever controls them undoubtedly let their sights linger on him and keep him monitored while he waits.

However, things aren't what they seem and Tokoyami hears things about the incident that aren't what actually happened. But then Dabi appears one night, acting in a way that implies he's close to Hawks and insisting that someone on the hero's side tried to kill him; not the villain that attacked Hawks and Tokoyami.Tokoyami isn't sure whether he believes Dabi or not; after all, the man is one of Japan's worst villains, despite not acting like it. But what he does know, is that someone tried to kill his mentor and cover it up, and that wasn't something Tokoyami was willing to leave be. And if that means working with Dabi to uncover the truth, then so be it.
