In some ways JJ's not shocked at the reaction of the team...JJ understood the kneejerk reaction, but Shane had told the team about Rozanov three weeks ago. And JJ knew that some of them might feel hurt, like he had, that Shane had kept this from them for so long, but he also knew some of them had never gotten over Shane coming out as gay to begin with. So no, he’s not shocked that the team hasn’t reacted well to losing to Ilya Rozanov now that they know about him and Shane.
What he is a little shocked by is the vitriol they were spitting.
The aftermath of Shane's trip in the game against the Centaurs, except they weren't outed and they came out to their teammates on their own terms. The Metro's still don't handle it well.

He had also convinced Shane on the plane ride the next day back to Montreal that he shouldn’t impulsively drive to a jewelry store and buy an engagement ring and also not to impulsively propose.
