I didn't believe in the AO3 curse until I started writing this. Death herself is whispering in my ear and whether it's a threat or a promise, only she knows. In the two months since I started this, I've lost a friend to suicide, nearly lost another to the same thing, had my relationship ended, nearly lost my dad three times to unrelated events, and yesterday I came within a foot or so of being crushed by a semi-truck that wasn't watching the road. Yet I continue to update regularly. Read at your own risk, this Fae retelling of Goldilocks set in the Roman Empire is cursed. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Cassia Aurelius didn't know the rules when she took a bite of that apple. Now, she finds herself stuck in a realm that's not her own, and everyone she meets, including the Gods themselves, seem to have their own agenda for her. After being pulled from deadly trials in a gladiator arena, she's ferried back and forth like a pawn in games she didn't sign up for, learning things about herself that she never expected.
Eventually she learns that the scared, weak little girl she used to be is dead. And the woman in her place is tired of being a pawn.
