Summary
Soobin had ducked away from a particularly powerful tail thrash that had sent a bottle of 5-in-1 sailing past his ear, and Yeonjun’s giant, fearful yellow eyes had caught the movement. He bared his teeth at Soobin in a growl, shrinking back against the wall. All of his fins were flared out, their spines sharp and raised like hackles on an angry dog. He looked dangerous.
He looked beautiful.

Soobin saves a mermaid. At least, he thinks he has- but can you really call it a rescue when you keep him confined to your bathtub for months on end? Yeonjun, while grateful, longs to be free, and Soobin struggles with feelings of guilt, selfishness, and the pain of loving something (or someone) in a way that hurts them.

Summary
“I–” Soobin starts. “I have to go home.”
“You will. But not yet. Just…” Another sigh. “Keep your head down. It'll be easier for all of us.”
“Easier?” He can hear how his voice pitches up. “You're going to keep me here against my will, and I'm just supposed to– You kidnapped me!”
The sharp guy in the corner bristles. “Accidentally.”
Soobin’s breath punches out of his chest in an incredulous laugh.
Or; Soobin sees something he shouldn't and becomes the unwilling passenger on a smuggling run, stuck with a crew that distrusts him and promises to let him go home eventually.
But eventually turns out to be long enough to change too much.

Soobin can’t answer; there’s nothing to say. Words of comfort would be lies, and Soobin isn’t sure how many more those he can tell before his sins topple upon him.
He presses a kiss to Yeonjun’s forehead. “You know, they say love isn’t held by the body, but instead by the soul.”
“But I don’t want your love when there’s nothing to hold it.”
“It’ll always be you, Jun,” Soobin whispers. “It’ll always be you holding it.”
