Summary
Jeonghan doesn’t avoid Seungcheol after the breakup. He has this theory — exposure therapy, or something like that. A way to blunt the blade. It makes it easier.
Seungcheol does avoid him, though.

Summary
A wild laugh escapes from Seungcheol’s throat. He’s clearly desperate. It’s a little bit funny, honestly. “They’re all so annoying, but I needed them to stop bothering me, so I just told them I have a boyfriend. And that he’s coming with me. So they can all shut up.”
Jeonghan pulls one hand free to grab a packet of creamer. “And you couldn’t think of anyone else to pathetically beg?”
“No, they asked me his name and—”
“You said me?”
“No, I said Yoon Jeonghan,” Seungcheol corrects.
(OR: Seungcheol needs Jeonghan to pretend to be his boyfriend, and Jeonghan needs to stop pretending he’s allergic to love.)

Summary
When Jeonghan tells his work friends that he has a boyfriend, he isn’t expecting them to invite him to a cabin on the week of Christmas for a romantic holiday vacation.
This wouldn’t be a problem if Seungcheol was actually his boyfriend.

“I want to have a baby.”
“What do you mean, have a baby? We can call Hansol, I’m sure he and Seungkwan would love a date night,” Seungcheol continues in the low drawl he uses when he’s trying to tease out the underlying mood of the conversation. Jeonghan can read every twitch of Seungcheol’s lips, every shift of his jaw. He’s an expert at it.
“No, Seungcheol,” he tries again. “I want to have a baby of my own. And I think you should be the one to— y’know,” Jeonghan vaguely gestures to his stomach. “Knock me up.”
(OR: Jeonghan asks his best friend to have a baby with him.)

“We made that pact. You know the one, that if both of us were still single by thirty then we’d marry each other.”
Seungcheol startles, looking at him. “We never made any pact.”
“Hm?” says Jeonghan. His eyes drift to the expanse of the ocean. “Well, we should have.”
