Summary
Kumiko has been the assistant advisor for some time now, and she hasn’t shaken the weirdness of it yet. She wonders, somewhat, if she is ever going to. She’s closer in age to the kids she teaches than she is to her coworkers.
***
Reina likes touring. She likes seeing the world, and playing on stages to people who love her. She likes the bus, cramped and terrible as it is. She likes Calliope and her brashness, she likes the feeling of her trumpet under her fingers and the scant gay bars left in America, she likes living a life that is not what she would have expected, years ago, but which is her own nevertheless.
Years pass.

Summary
"Kumiko holds the book over the printer like she is an archeologist, like it is old and precious and irreplaceable, because, of course, it is.
Kitauji’s copy machine is nigh-unusable, so she’s taken a trip into the city, gone to the nearest office supplies store, and she’s now hunched over this thing with a songbook already thumb-smudged and wrinkled, but she won’t mess it up more than that. She refuses to do that."
Kumiko passes down something precious.

Summary
“What did you think of the performance?” Mizore sits on the bed. Nozomi feels like she’s in a layover, like there is something temporary and precarious about all of this. It can’t last. It won’t. She’s a stop on the blue bird’s journey, that’s all.
“It was brilliant,” and it is as truthful as Nozomi has ever been. “You were brilliant, Mizore.”
or; three pairs have very different reactions to Mizore's concert.

Summary
“You could’ve been easier on her,” Kaori says, in their bed, which is just one – for money’s sake, and because the apartment isn’t big enough for two beds. That’s how Asuka spun it, anyway, and Kaori was willing to believe it.
“What? No I couldn’t have. Then I wouldn’t be me.”
or; two roommates process a recent visit. Kumiko has thoughts on it, too.
