I’m no good at writing like Ichika is. But I—” A hesitant beat. “I’ll promise I’ll read your letters. I’ll even re-read them, too, when I miss you.”
She imagines tracing Saki’s handwriting with her fingertip, imagines comparing each sloppy stroke and swoop to her usual calligraphy.
I wouldn’t mind, Shiho thinks. I wouldn’t mind the difference at all.

The warmth and soft pressure of her body is suddenly too much; Shiho, however, can't pull away, the park bench’s table pinning her in place, head spinning with slight vertigo. Her hands feel huge and unwieldy—the right tightens to a white-knuckle around the bottle, and the left hovers midair by Saki’s stomach.
