“She regained her balance and examined what exactly had happened. It was a tall office building that had a hole in the side of it with smoke pouring out, but that looked to be about it.
“Icarus, what’s our situation?” Winefred asked as she scouted the area, watching for any more explosives.
“Well, there seems to be a small fire from a computer but the fire department is on their way. Oh, looks like someone is trapped under a piece of rubble just through that hole in front of you. But be careful, I don’t trust this.”
“I‘ll be as careful as always. Can’t work jobs with broken bones.””

Jake loves his work as a detective! Really, he does. Sometimes it gets too much, but otherwise, he still loves it.
He's gotten hurt on missions before. A lot. And it's been a little since he got hurt or went to the hospital so he's proud!
Well, that is until he goes on a mission with Holt.
Chasing a serial killer, because of course Jake wants to do that, and Holt follows suit simply because Jake asked him to and because Jake probably needs the supervision.
So, off they go, nothing could go fucking wrong.
