He could rip this discomfort away, reassure Sanji with a few easy lies, tell him this wasn’t something they did and definitely wasn’t something they would do again. Only for Sanji, was this thing between them torturous. Law said nothing, and Sanji’s nicotine yellow nails flicked open the lighter cap before closing it again, only to repeat the action in an absent minded infinite.
Sanji broke the silence, “Let’s get out of here, This place looks like a set for a murder.”
Law grinned. He couldn’t help it, the way his mouth worked against his own attempts at indifference. “Where do you want to go?” He asked.

“Hurry the fuck up while you’re at it!” Law grinned and nudged him with a boot, “I want a warm drink!”
Bepo carefully helped him upright and placed him on the plank, muttering apologies where his captain couldn’t hear. The wind snatched the air from his lungs and Sanji knew he had to move, letting his feet carry him to the end of the plank. As the bare skin on wood burned with cold, he turned to face the crew one last time.
“You are all assholes,” he yelled against the roar of the ocean. Law simply tilted the plank upwards.

Adam knows he is leaving so he does the only thing he knows how to do: self sabotage and destroy the relationships he has. The easiest part of throwing Cherry away will be setting up Joe to catch him.
Or more accurately: Adam/Cherry/Joe mess around and all think they are getting the better end of a deal. In reality, they all play with metaphorical fire and get burned.
