When Hitoshi had bought both the storefront and attached apartment, he hadn’t looked twice at the ridiculously low price save for a passing thought of that’s kinda weird, but whatever. Located smack in the middle of downtown, it had great foot traffic and neighbored a cat café (which was always a plus).
He should’ve given it a second thought. He should’ve hesitated and asked about the cheap selling price—or, at the very least, researched the area. Perhaps if he had, he wouldn’t have become the tattoo artist for the most notorious yakuza family.
Nor would he have started an intimate relationship with the heir to said family either. Though the jury was still out on that one.
