Her lip curls a bit. “Not to drink,” she says, bitterness creeping into her voice. “I’m sure you’ve got no idea, given you’ve clearly spent the last week at the bottom of a bottle, but there’s been a rash of whippings in town, and we’re all out of disinfectant.”
