In the waiting room before their recording, Matthew sat down with a blanket draped over his shoulders. He liked warmth. He also liked stealing Gunwook’s jacket whenever possible.
Gunwook sat on the couch beside him and began scrolling through his cue sheet. Then, the strangest thing in the entire universe happened.
He didn’t lean on Matthew.
Didn’t touch him. Didn’t rest his knee against Matthew’s. Didn’t tap his thigh. Didn’t do anything.
He just sat upright. Politely. Correctly. Like a stranger.
Matthew kept glancing at him. Then at Gunwook’s shoulder, which was usually pushed against his own right now. Then back at his face. Finally, Matthew leaned toward him—ever so slightly.
Gunwook immediately shifted away.
Matthew froze mid-lean, expression stuck somewhere between offense and disbelief.
Did… did Gunwook just dodge him?
Gunwook discovers self-restraint. Matthew is not sure how to handle that.
