─── ･ ｡ﾟ☆: .☽ . : ｡ﾟ☆:. ───He cut himself off with a scream as the energy released from his body in shock waves, sending everyone flying. Giacinta let out a shout as they felt their back slam into a wall, pain radiating from their spine as the air left their body.
They slumped to the floor and gasped for air. Their gasping breath fogged up the eyes of their mask as they tried to catch their breath. Arms wrapped around their right arm, pulling them to sit up. "You okay?" Daniel asked as he took off Giacinta's hazmat mask. Giacinta nodded shakily and looked around at the destroyed hospital room in the emergency lighting.
"I'll be fine." Giacinta nodded, trying to convince Daniel and themself. Daniel patted Giacinta's shoulder as they both turned their attention back to the alien.

"You figure out yet how to align this gate to get back home?" Jack asked as he joined them around the device.
Daniel looked up from his notepad to observe the Stargate again. "Yeah, the device is the same as on Abydos, this symbol represents—"
"You brief Kawalsky's team yet?" Jack interrupted.
"Yes," Daniel said before trying to explain again. "This symbol represents—"
"Good job." Jack cut Daniel off again, patting his back before moving to talk to Kawalsky. Mikolas watched Jack walk off before looking at Daniel. He didn't seem disgruntled or discouraged at Jack blatantly ignoring what he was trying to say, he looked more annoyed than anything.
Mikolas approached him and the device, looking down at one of the symbols on it. He let go of his gun and pointed at it asking, "What's this represent?

Nile watches as Joe gets to his feet and heads towards Nicky, calling out something to him in Italian. Nile is torn between learning Italian, so that she can know what they’re saying, and feeling like it’s an intrusion on something that she’s not meant to hear. "He's very protective of Nicky, isn't he?"
"You're only noticing that now?" Andy asks wryly.
“It all seems a little bit one-sided, that’s all,” Nile muses. “I've never seen Nicky be as...violently protective over Joe.” Andy just hums, and Nile glances over at her. “You think I’m wrong? I know I haven’t been around long, but I’ve seen Joe get killed in a bunch of messy ways and Nicky has never done…that.”
Andy just hums again. “Look again,” she says when Nile throws her hands up in frustration. “Watch more closely. You’ll know when you see it.”

Summary
Echo has lived her life tucked away in the forests of Tethir, learning magic through the pulse of nature and the songs of creation. She's good with magic, but not people, which isn't really a problem until she's scooped up by mind flayers and has to get along with six strangers lest they all share a tentacle-y doom. And she manages to get along with most of them -- but then there's Gale of Waterdeep. Despite a terrible first impression, she finds he is actually much kinder than all the mansplaining would suggest.
This is a series of relationship scenes about my weird little mushroom hermit, a wizard who shows compassion and arrogance really can coexist, and how academic rivalry is like first base for wizards.
