Smaug looked at the creature he'd caught. What a tiny thing it was! Even smaller than the dwarves, and much lighter of step. Had it not been holding a beacon while rifling through his gold, Smaug would hardly have noticed it.
But here it was, and the dragon was careful not to crush the tiny thing in his grasp.
"Here you are," Smaug rumbled, opening his hand.
Inside it was a creature he had never seen before, but upon closer inspection, one he knew immediately in his heart as kin. The creature carried within it something Smaug hadn't encountered in ages: the touch of the Green Lady.
A fellow child of Yavanna, after all these years.

Summary
Evan "Buck" Buckley isn't like anyone else. He's blessed and later adopted by Hestia, the Greek goddess, and life as a demigod is not always easy. Especially if you have given everything but can't be sure it really made a difference.
Wanting a chance to live a normal life (even if it only is temperary), Buck moves with Mrs. O'Leary to the city of Angels and dedicates his time to saving others.
He may not be able to burn from the heat of the sun, but he can still fall from the sky and into the ocean. Not even the Fates know what's next for Buck, but he is sure his life will end in as much horror as the man he's named after. After all, who names their son after someone doomed to fall to their death at a young age?
