Having all four Archangels burst into his shop in the evening was terrifying. Having them start talking about Crowley was even more terrifying. Having them bring out photographs of him and Crowley together was a level of terrifying previously unknown to sentient beings. Then the Archangels had started talking about how obvious it was that he was desperately in love with Crowley, and he’d panicked a bit. Was it really? He’d been head over heels since Crowley had pressed that bag of books into his hand, maybe longer. Was it obvious enough that even Archangels could see it? And if Archangels could see it, could Crowley see it? Was he aware of Aziraphale’s pathetic, pining feelings?
The year is 1972. Heaven has figured out that Aziraphale is head over heels for the Adversary. They decide to do something about it. Their solution is not one that anyone was expecting.
