She fumbled her phone from her pocket and scrolled her contacts. His name appeared and she smashed the call button. It rang a total of five times before it went to voicemail. She thought nothing of it and called again.
This time it only rang twice before going to voicemail. He could be busy with supervisory stuff after the fact considering everything that just happened. She could have missed him at the courthouse. With that in mind, she waited a little and called once more. This time it went immediately to voicemail. She tried not to get irritated but this was officially weird. Tim never ignored his phone. He definitely didn't send people, especially her to voicemail. Lucy decided sending a text would be a better option before spiraling.
L Chen: Hey where are you? Are you ready to get out of here??
She watched as the three bubbles came to life in the thread and her slight irritation subsided finally just to be replaced by confusion and anger.

Bradford’s Bakery looks unassuming from the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. Everything is handmade and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing. The coffee is gold.
