A heavy wash of dizziness falls over her like a cloak. She wishes she would’ve eaten more when Joel tried to coax her earlier.”

Rearing back to look at him properly, Ellie wipes her eyes roughly. He keeps his hands on her shoulders, holding her steady, tethering them together.
‘I know,’ she says, her tone harsh. Joel knows it’s not him she’s angry at, though. ‘I…’ she trails off, looking around the room as if searching for an answer in the dark.
Joel waits, ever-patient (and only when it comes to his kid).
‘I thought you were gonna fucking die in that fucking basement,’ she says, voice high with fresh tears.”

“‘Pete, you okay?’ Tony rushed out, his voice tense with concern as he quickly grabs and steadies him.
Peter blinks but he feels worse and worse with every passing second. He closes his eyes and shakes his head slowly. A sharp ringing starts to slowly fill his ears.‘I… I don’ feel so good…’ he mumbles.
The ringing in his ears gets louder and he is can’t hear the words that come out of Tony and Steve’s lips. Peter’s legs suddenly give out without any warning and Tony isn’t able to catch him in time before his knees collide against the elevator floor, causing a vibration of pain to flow up his legs.
‘-eter! Shit—Steve!’ Tony’s voice filters in and out of his ears, sounding far away.”

‘It was a dream. I’ve heard of this sorcerer before. He casts spells to make someone live out their worst nightmare.’ Tony stares at him incomprehensibly, feeling his hope, against his will rise. ‘Your worst nightmare must be losing Peter.’”

It hadn't taken long for Tony to find out about this, and he is persistent in always being there for Peter when he wakes up panicking whenever he's staying over at the cabin.
