Summary
“I’d like to end this year the same way I start next year,” Gale tips his chin up to speak directly into John’s ear.
“How’s that?” John wonders as his eyes skip across the bar top littered with empty glasses, crumpled napkins, champagne bottles lined up and ready to be popped open. He catches the drunken eyes of a few guys, gives a couple winks, and then finally turns fully towards Gale’s face. Flushed with alcohol, but not drunk, Gale’s never drunk. He’s probably had one single glass of champagne, just enough to get a little giddy, a little bubbly, and little less composed.
Gale blinks, a slow sly smile creeps into the corners of his mouth and he says, “With a dick in my ass.”

Summary
"He still married?"
"He's married," John says after a pause. "Yeah, he's married, you could say that."
Clearly there's something Harry is missing. He's shrewd enough to pick up on that, but not much else. The foil label on his beer bottle peels away easily when he scratches at it, considering whether or not to delve further.

Summary
“You’re a good story teller, you know.”
Buck can feel the heat of a blush burning against his skin. He shrugs, shoulders brushing his ears. Their bodies bracketed the center of the bed in an identical curvature, breaths perfectly out of sync. Buck inhaling John’s exhale, sighs out oxygen for him.
“So’d those kids invite you back for the next game?”
Buck smiles, and wonders again at the steadfast belief John held that Buck was just as likable and good as himself. “Nah.”
“I would have.” John says softly, “I’d teach you how to catch that baseball Buck.”
