We can wrap it in a conversation, because some things need the context of familiarity – filtered through a mind that is uniquely suited to giving it the meaning it never possessed. Something so open to every thing and every impulse, every idea, that it's forced to wrap it up in turn – in shapes, in voices, in names.

INLAND EMPIRE – Knowing the reason for something isn't necessarily panacea against its effect. If it was, there would be far fewer sad and sick people in the world. Most people in Revachol know perfectly well the reason for the months of protests, trade sanctions and blockades, the continual sabotage and collapse of all civil services and the imminent threat of open armed conflict.
COMPOSURE – When pressed to reflect over it, it's been all too easy for Kim to connect the state of the world to the state of his own body.
Harry does his best to get Kim to relax - but ignoring your impulses can be hard, artistic or otherwise.

His already florid face goes a darker shade of red as he shifts uncomfortably, licks his lower lip, chews on it until it resembles a piece of raw beef. Two days of having to prompt him into doing anything but fixating as the case grinds to a halt. Two days of returning to the same topic...
Harry gets fixated on the smoker on the balcony, and Kim decides that Harry needs to take care of business for the sake of his own sanity and to get the case going. No need to get weird about it. No need at all.

The rest of the C-wing was was staring at him as well, most of them from across reports containing more or less horrific tales of murder and human misery. Kim gave them a scrutinising glance. Yes, Mack was most definitely holding an evidence bag with what looked like human hair in it.
Precinct 41 gets to go to an upscale spa. It has cucumbers.
