Mike Wheeler marches up to Eddie Munson during lunch on the third day of the school year with three boys trailing after him and his chest puffed out like he’s prepared to be told to get lost and refuses to take it
“We want to join Hellfire,” Mike declares, and two of the boys nod unwaveringly. The third boy, not physically shorter but hunched like he wants to take up as little space as possible, with a truly unfortunate bowl cut shifts his gaze from Mike Wheeler to the floor.
Eddie thinks he sees something familiar in his eyes when he looks at Mike.
“Okay,” he finds himself saying, voice a low drawl that has the whole group of freshmen blinking in surprise. “Our first meeting is this Friday in the drama room. Seven o’clock. Don’t be late, shitheads.”

AKA — Eddie and Will deserved to meet in canon and have the same relationship that Steve and Dustin have.
