Summary
Poe Dameron isn’t a fool, no matter the decisions he sometimes makes, when he’s up in the dark of space with bogies on his tail and nothing but empty starfield in his sights. But it’s a fool venture that’s brought him to Jakku, planet of sand and dust that gets in his nose and makes him sneeze with the dryness of it. Badgering a legend’s ex-lover into giving up where he’s gone is the last vestige of the desperate and the damned, and he’d prefer to think of the Resistance as neither, no matter what he might read on the holonet.
It still gets him every time, though, when General Solo looks his way and lowers his voice and says please, uncomfortable giving commands even after all these years. When he comes down to it, Poe’s not really saying yes so much as he’s taking another step down the path he’s been on since Senator Leia Organa sat New Republic Defense Fleet Rapier Squadron Commander Dameron down and asked him to go where she could not follow.
If Lor San Tekka hasn’t got a map, or at the least, a clue, that’s one thing. If he does, Poe will have it out of him one way or another.

Summary
He remembers Kent at seventeen, sharp and mellow in equal measure. He gets a little bit of whiplash looking at Kent now. This Kent’s a little thicker too, muscle thewed down his arms, light dust of pale hair lining the bone. That’s not what keeps catching Jack off-balance. It’s not that Kent doesn’t look right. It’s that he doesn’t look at Jack right.
Or, Jack takes a bad hit and forgets the past
threeeight years of his life.

Summary
The children will learn here, as much reading and mathematics as she can cram into their heads. But more than anything, she wants this school to be a place that feels like a home. Joli thinks that as long as she can help any of the children feel safer in this strange world they’ve inherited, she’ll have done her job.
She’s never going to feel ready, but this is probably as good as it’s going to get. Now all she needs are some students.

Summary
Guddy has an alternative revenue stream on the side. He's also not looking for anything serious. And Aaron isn't either, not really. Just having some fun.
They're both really bad at this.
(or: Guddy learns how to love, and Aaron learns how to assign names to feelings.)

oh this is just brilliant, the amount of things hidden here behind the dialog, i'm in awe.
