Maybe he'd lie about it, say it was sacking Winterfell or killing two boys to pretend they were Bran and Rickon. Maybe he'd say it was betraying Robb - he imagines that's something people would believe after all. They had been ever so close. And Theon had been such a dick until the ability to be so was beaten out of him.
But no, he'd never, ever admit to letting Ramsay go.

(AU where Futaba and Akechi are half-siblings, Sojiro adopted both of them, neither Akechi nor Ren initially know each others living situation. Side helping of Shuake, because as if dealing with sister being in the phantom thieves isn't hard enough, so is the guy that Akechi's got some complicated feelings for. Story is practically the same up until beginning of Futaba's palace)
