Life with a hybrid had come with solace and routine for Leon, though it was a bit touch and go at times. You had a penchant for digging into his dirty laundry, wrapping yourself in sweaty workout clothes that you swore smelled divine. You were incredibly affectionate, something that both comforted and occasionally confounded Leon. You sweetly stayed by his side, purring as your tail swished with affection. You’re partway through trying to figure out the subtlest way to slip out without getting caught when the lump in the bed moves, and you’re already stringing together the best apology you can manage when the blankets flip back. You’re stuttering something about how you’re leaving, you promise, you never saw anything, when a pair of dark blue eyes meets yours from across the bedroom.
You freeze, chest going tight.
“Xavier? What are you doing here?”
