John can feel all the places they’re touching, and all the places they’re not. Feels those places like open sores ready to be balmed by this earth-grown softness of the two of them. He was right- Paul is touched starved. John smiles a bit as he drifts, satisfied that he can give Paul this.

Pete swallows and tries to think. He opens his mouth to say something, anything, but he can’t think of much else aside from the burning and yelling and pain.
“F…Fire,” He eventually chokes out. His throat is so parched and he starts coughing as soon as the words leave his mouth.
“Fuck – ” The boy moves away from Pete and no, he can’t go away again. A cry works its way out of Pete, but the boy is back before it becomes anything more than a small plea. He’s pressing something to Pete’s mouth then, forcing it past his lips and Pete tries to turn away from it instinctively, but then – oh.
