They weren't always like this. For a long while James was simply a silent viewer, fist around his cock and eyes reverent as he watched Regulus get fucked. They'd hammer into him bent over the arm of a sofa, face down on a mattress, knees positively murdered on a kitchen floor. James wasn't in love with Regulus then. It's kind of ridiculous that some men believe themselves to be in love with Regulus still.
