The entire world had been their oyster. She had just started her big job as a marketing intern for a company that supplied vaccines to the world and he had managed to find himself a desk job at an accountancy firm, somewhere his brain for numbers could be put to good use. They had drawn up plans to see the world, make it their bitch. Nothing had seemed out of reach.
But then the years had begun to slide by–Christmas parties, weddings, work meetings–and that promise to see the world slid away with them. Sure, Kiera went away a lot for work–she had a bag packed semi-permanently so she could be in Paris, or Florence, or Dubai, at the drop of a suspiciously-priced Saint Laurent beret–but Lambert felt permanently anchored to the washed-out concrete of these streets.
Lambert is stumbling through life without a clear direction. He doesn't know who he is, or what he wants, only that he's fucking lost. A chance meeting at a party leads him to confront the truth of his situation, and with the support of his family and a new presence in his life, Lambert sets out to find the man he has buried deep to protect him from a world he believed would never accept him.

Based on some meta that discussed Stede's body image issues caused by cruelty from his peers. Ed and Stede are the same size, but it struck me that Stede's softness was often used against him. His body was demeaned as a way to further denigrate his masculinity, which would have affected his self perception
Ed reminds Stede that he loves him as all the man he is.
