"Face it." Wright stands, then, and makes his way around to Kristoph's side of the table, hands in his pockets. "You're a sore loser, Kris. You can't stand it."
Kristoph splutters, just for a second. Who on Earth would care if he was a sore loser? And besides--"It's a game, Wright." He fights to keep the derision in his voice. "I think that I'll manage to get over it."
"No. No, it's not just that." Standing over him, taller for once, Wright palms his rough chin. "You can't stand the fact that there's still something I'm better than you at."
Phoenix decides to teach Kristoph some manners in a very physical way. Kristoph is all too happy to be put in his place for reasons of his own.

It was obvious from the first time that Miles Edgeworth faced Phoenix Wright in court that he was something inhuman. Those sparkling eyes, the way he almost seemed to glow as he delivered his final argument, the way something about him took hold inside Miles’ chest and would not cede its ground… His ability to stay in Miles’ thoughts was supernatural, even when Miles fled and an ocean separated them.

Kay had her head cocked to the side when Franziska dragged her transparently longing eyes away from her hands. “Your neck bothering you?”
Could she ask Kay to do that for her again, as she so badly wanted her to in that moment? Not would Kay say yes, not is it ‘okay’ to ask, but could she, Franziska von Karma, really convince herself to ask for it?
She lied, automatically, before she even really thought about it. “I am fine.”
Kay pointed right at her quite rudely. “Lying face. Pain face. You’re so easy to read.”
Franziska, despite all outward appearances, has weaknesses--and one of them is accepting help. Kay tries her luck and offers anyway.

all works within inspired by the perennial classic mcr fic series unholyverse by bexless. like many mcr fans and fic readers, i was immediately and completely obsessed with it as soon as i finished it. i didn't want it to be over, so i... made it not be over.
i am in no way trying to replace bexless and the entire reason this series is named that is because i'm very much the store-brand version, but everything in here is written with the utmost love and respect for the originals, and that's what i hope comes across. no idea if or when i'll write more, or how long they'll be if i do, but now i've written twice for it so it's gotta be a series, right?

Summary
After years and years of running, McQueen's pre-OP races are nothing but mere warm-ups. She has faith in her trainer’s words and most of all, she has faith in herself. She has been on the track for as long as she can remember and at this point, she has no doubts about winning. Even as cold sweat drips down her neck, she doesn’t feel unease from the race ahead of her.
What’s truly eating her up inside is what awaits after; how well-fucked, as Gold Ship had crudely put it, she’s going to be if she places first.
And they both know she will.

It was humiliating, to be unable to control it, especially when she realized with much horror, that the once disembodied hands, mouth, voice, belonged to someone very real in her life. Someone she didn’t even like. And although Franziska didn’t actually really like anyone (even her brother, she tolerated at most), there were those whose presence she did not entirely loath, and Maya Fey was not one of those individuals.

"I have standards, Wright," she'd said. "I am not a masochist."
"Well, sure," Phoenix had replied. "But that doesn't change the fact that if I asked you to, you would."
"Surely you cannot believe yourself when you say that."
"That a challenge?"
And Miles had seen the glint in her eye, the crooked bend to her smile, so she'd said (like an idiot!): "I wouldn't ever pass up a chance to prove you wrong, Phoenix Wright."
Miles agrees to a challenge. Things get steamy from there on.

You're such a pain in the fucking ass. Do you get off to it or something?" Mentally, she immediately screams, Why did you say that!!!
Edgeworth's eyes go wider, and then, lightning-strike fast, she reaches up and yanks Phoenix's tie so that their faces are very close; she says, dangerously low, "No more than you, I'm sure."
And then she kisses her.
Two rivals have an unexpected late-night meeting. It goes how you expect.
