Pariston Hill carries himself like a caricature, like a marionette holding itself aloft by its own strings. Part man. Part object. It’s a crass comparison, but it fits when Paris drifts apart from Ging like this, gaze soaring and soaring until there is only the object. Only the shape of a man.
Ging’s never bothered to figure out what sets off these strange dissociative episodes.
He never asks, and Paris never tells.
