    Summary

“I don’t understand,” he says, and his arms are wrapped around himself now, as if he is cold. They are in Hebra, yes, but he can’t help but feel as if the cold has nothing to do with how he is beginning to shiver.
“What do you mean you don’t understand?” Revali demands, turning back to him, his glare even deeper on his face than before. “I’ve expressed myself clearly to you many times before - it is no fault of mine that you see yourself as better than I simply because of the sword on your back. Surely you cannot blame me for cutting my losses here - I’ve wasted enough time on you as it is.”
“I-I don’t understand,” Link repeats, because for once, he truly doesn’t know how it was that he didn’t please this individual. He thought he understood, before, but Revali has grown more and more upset, and Link simply does not understand what he has done wrong to cause this.
    He wants to fix this.
It is the first time in his life he can ever truly remember wanting something.
It is as his vision begins to blur (he doesn't know why) that Revali’s expression shifts.
“Oh,” the Rito says, and suddenly, his face is no longer stuck in a glare, but in horror, and a deep, deep sadness in his eyes. “Oh, no.”

    Summary

It felt like he was swimming through water that clung to his skin, holding him fast deep beneath the surface. There was darkness, and a thin, frail beam of light in the distance. He heard -- or he thought he heard -- someone speaking but he could barely make out the voice.

Link wakes in a strange place, with only a voice to guide him and the feeling that the Old Man isn't telling him the full truth. He has a lot of feelings, in fact, and not a single memory to tell him what they are about.

He's not even sure of his own name.

All he knows is that the woman who speaks to him needs help, and he feels very strongly that he has to do something about that.

    Summary

So, which Links in the history of Hyrule paid their taxes, for real?

This is a somewhat fast and loose approximation of my recall of historical taxes, who paid them (or didn’t) and how, how they were collected and from whom, and what kind of taxation was even possible under different governments. This is pulled from a couple decades of study into historical society and books I’ve read on feudalism, the social duties of knights, and government structure and instability in both medieval Europe and the Ottoman Empire, among others.

God help me, but I got it down to 2500 words instead of 3000, I suppose.

    Summary

Hatsume desperately needs a specific part for her newest baby, but she can't seem to get it through normal channels. When she hears that Yaoyorozu might be willing to make things with her quirk for her friends, she gets the bright idea to become friends with her and eventually get the part she needs!

...Yaoyorozu does not interpret Hatsume's behavior as platonic.

“I-” Yaoyorozu coughed, face getting redder, “I’ve never received such a- a bold confession before.”

    Summary

    I FORGOT A SUMMARY AHHHHH

Someone targeting the Commission isn’t anything new, with them being such a large pillar in society that promotes Heroes; occasionally, they have to replace the windows or lawn if an attack is bad enough. Maybe hire a few staff members to replace lower-ranking employees who did nothing but show up to work that day. A building can be rebuilt, new people hired, and money had never been an issue to the HPSC with all of the public support it gets. But this isn’t that, it isn’t just a matter of replacing some glass or buying new trees- the Commission is currently more like an active demolition zone than a proud government building.

This isn’t just a targeted attack, it's angry- furious even, a wrath proven right and twice as deadly for it. This attack is a message.

(or: eyooo, back on my bs and leading the hurt-hawks train!)
