Summary
Buck and Tommy have been back to work for about three months when Bertie turns six months old. He can’t believe his baby is half a year old already! They have a party in the backyard to celebrate, members of the 118, the 217, and the 133 mingling and passing the guest of honor around. Buck is glad they have a relatively large yard, because it turns out that three firehouses adds up to a lot of people. They have Bertie’s pack and play out on the lawn, but she doesn’t end up spending any time in it, thanks to all the people wanting to hold her.

Summary
Their first week at home is a special time, despite the sleep deprivation and increasing chaos in their usually neat house. It seems like there’s always laundry going, the dishes are piling up in the sink, and showers are delayed for days—usually until Tommy has a PT appointment to go to. Despite all of that, they’re deliriously happy to have Bertie finally with them.

At first Buck blames grief. Bobby’s dead; it makes perfect sense that he can’t hold anything down, that smelling food makes him nauseous, that he’s tired all the time.

“Lit reviews should be considered as punishments for inmates who commit really gruesome crimes,” Clint said, frowning down at the table, which was spread with printed out articles, books, a couple of notepads, and his laptop. “Like, super grisly murders.”

Summary
After moving twice this year, and after losing Bobby, everything in Buck's life has an air of uncertainty and impermanence. Of course he picked this house because he liked it and could see himself living here, but part of him still feels like somebody is going to take it away from him as soon as he allows it to feel like home.
Buck wonders if Tommy somehow understands why he’s so reluctant to unpack his decorations, even though they haven't spoken about it. And if Tommy got him a plant on December 1st and a little fire engine on the 2nd, does that mean there’ll be another present tomorrow?

Summary
"Thank you again," the nervous guy says.
"Like I said: I did it for Chimney," the pilot says, and Alex hasn't been briefed enough to know if that's a person or organization. It's an equally stupid name for both. The pilot leans over, turning his head a little so Alex catches a small smile in profile from where he's wedged in the third row seat. "And for you."

This poor FBI agent just wants to get home. Instead, he has a front row (well, third row) seat to the conversation that could've taken place after these alleged bioterrorists were detained.

Ravi doesn't need to be looped into the weird ass shit of the A-shift, he's got his life worked out pretty much how he likes it and he's satisfied with the amount of risk he's taking on as a firefighter, thank you very much.

Summary
Ravi's eyes flutter closed again, but he didn't tell him to go away, so Buck keeps talking. "I, uh, went viral."
That does the trick, Ravi's eyes opening again, this time sparkling with curiosity. "Viral?"
Buck hums. "On Reddit. I made a fake account and uh…" His hand comes up to scratch at his neck, that humiliation making a hasty return. It's not his finest moment. He winces, blurting his crime out. "Posted on relationship advice."
Ravi's mouth drops open, and he sits up, his precious sleep long forgotten. "About Tommy?"
"Yeah," Buck confirms grimly. "The last time I checked, there were almost fifteen hundred comments."

Summary
“Are you okay?” Tommy asks.
If Buck were able to put the storms of emotions into coherent words, he probably would say: That’s kind of a stupid question. Look at me. Do I look okay? How can anything be okay? Bobby is dead. And I fucked up. And you are not with me.
He just shrugs. “I guess.”

Buck and Tommy meet at Bobby's funeral. They start texting each other. As friends. It helps with the grief until Buck finds out that Tommy has been lying to him.
