Summary
One of the few things Ichika did manage to remember from Honami's teachings were the shooting stars: not falling stars, much to Saki’s disappointment, but meteors shooting across the sky before burning up in the atmosphere. She remembered, because Honami told them that they were supposed to make wishes on shooting stars. That to see a shooting star in the sky could mean that the soul of someone you love is looking down on you, ready to grant your wish with their love.
If Ichika could make a wish on a star, she would wish for her best friends back. But there were no stars shooting across the sky, no wishes for Ichika to take as her own. Rather, the stars twinkled down at her in unrecognizable patterns, almost mockingly.
Ichika missed her friends.

Zoey had found a good spot for it pushed back against the wall, behind the spare blanket she never used, invisible unless you were specifically looking. Mira had banned them from the house four months ago after finding one in the bathroom cabinet and delivering a ten-minute speech that Zoey had nodded through while mentally calculating how to replace it. Within a week she had a new one. Smaller. Easier to hide.
