Schlatt’s leading Ted into his apartment when he says, “We have dinner reservations tonight.”
"That sounds fancy,” Ted slings his bag down on Schlatt's bed.
"It is fancy,” Schlatt says, “Jackets and ties required.”
"I don't have either of those things,” Ted says. Ted’s grown out of an alarming amount of his clothes, and he’s been replacing them on an as-needed basis. It’s a stressful process with a lot of last-minute shopping, but it’s still easier than admitting that he’s only going to get fatter before he needs to wear his bathing suit/pirate costume/only formal outfit again.
