Summary
Everyone on the grid knows Max Verstappen loves George Russell.
They see it in the way Max waits. The way he stays, no matter how many times George refuses to name what they are. A situationship built on half-promises and silence. On George pretending not to notice the devotion he quietly relies on.
George tells himself it works. That Max understands.
Until a race ends in red flags and stillness.
Max dies on the spot.
George grieves at a distance, insisting it hurts because it’s tragic, not because it’s love. Only later does the truth surface: Max was his constant, the one who loved him without ever being chosen.
By the time George realizes he loved Max, it’s too late.
Then George wakes up.
Two years in the past. Max alive.
This time, George refuses to waste a single lap.
“Morning, Russell.” Max says brightly. “Snacks first or straight to the media scrum?”
George swallows, but Max is already moving. No pause. No warmth.
This is not his Max.
Alive. Breathing. Untouched by the devotion George remembers.
For the first time, George understands: he has to earn him.

Summary
Mike grabs Will’s hands and tangles them with his own, blinking up at him through his long, dark lashes. His eyes are endless. Solid black, like the night above them. So shiny that Will can see himself, tipsy and happy, in the reflection. “I want to be stuck with you,” Mike whispers, like it’s a secret. “I don’t ever want to leave.”
Will sucks in a sharp breath, squeezing his hands. “Then don’t,” he whispers back, punched-out and honest. “Stay.”

“Well,” Mike shrugs, swallowing hard in a desperate attempt to soothe his very, very dry mouth, “I don’t know why someone wouldn’t be interested in you.”
“Oh?” Will says, and it’s definitely teasing now, enough for Mike to feel himself turning warm, all down his neck and to the tips of his own – sadly unpatterned – socks. “Someone?”
“Yeah.” Mike nods. Oh, god. This is fine. “In a very arbitrary sense of the word. Just– people. Someone.”
Mike is approximately ninety-eight percent sure that his feelings are requited. That last two percent, however, has really been throwing him for a loop.
